Lithuanian Wind Energy Association (LWEA)

Lithuanian Wind Energy Association (LWEA) was established on October 2, 2002. Main objective of the LWEA is to create and develop full cycle of wind power activities as ecologically clean craft of energetics using modern technologies. There are these tasks to implement the main objective solving by association:

  • To create positive juridical and economical possibilities to develop wind power in Lithuania, get in touch with local authorities, suggest acts and activity programs of wind power sector development;
  • To create system of strategic self-development of Lithuanian Wind Power, which will harmonize private and governmental and national interests in this sector;
  • To develop Lithuanian Wind Power as a full cycle of activities: strategical self-management, scientific research, windmill engineering and construction, wind power plants projection, construction, technical support and utilization, logistics and etc.;
  • To develop natural science, economical, social and other fundamental and scientific research, which main task is to determine the possibilities of sustainable development of wind power and to create preconditions to develop ecologically clean and safe energy;
  • To ensure the preparation of wind power specialists and scientists;
  • To form positive public opinion according to the ecologically clean wind power, organize seminars and scientific conferences;
  • To protect members rights;
  • To get in touch with the similar organizations from other countries.

Baltic Offshore Energy Cluster

Baltic Offshore Energy Cluster – a group of scientific, financial, industrial and other enterpises, joined their efforts for efficient development of off-shore energy in marine areas of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, including establishing off-shore wind parks, wave and stream power stations, etc., same as projecting, financing and construction of East Baltic arm of Pan European Supergrid and arrangement of logistics of European electricity market. This advanced body integrates full cycle of high technologic activities of marine energy related to strategic planning, scientific research, design, producing and utilisations of equipment and its parts, financing, construction, exploitation, producing, accumulating, balancing of electricity and logistics of all kinds of marine located energy sources. The joint activity of BOSEC is targeted to access synergy by integration of efforts and abilities of business enterprises, science organisations and policymakers of European Commission and national governments seeking to accelerate development of marine energy and European power markets according to priorities and targets set by Lisbon strategy and EU energy strategic plans.

National Control Commission for Prices and Energy

The National Energy Strategy, Law on Energy, Law on Electricity are the main laws regulating the energy sector.

While implementing the assigned regulatory tasks, the Commission shall (1) approve the methodologies and procedures for setting state regulated prices , (2) set state regulated price caps, (3) control the application of state regulated prices and tariffs, (4) approve charges for connection of energy facilities,(5) approve the purchase price for electricity generated from renewable energy, (6) grant a licence for electricity market operator and licenses for transmission, distribution, public supply and independent supply of energy, (7) and control over the licensed activities of energy undertakings.

The European Wind Energy Association

The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting the utilisation of wind power in Europe and worldwide. It is ideally situated in the Renewable Energy House in Brussels ensuring close proximity to European decision-makers.
EWEA coordinates international policy, communications, research and analysis and provides various services to support members' requirements. EWEA also organises high-profile industry events that members can attend at attractive rates. EWEA analyses, formulates and establishes policy positions for the wind industry on key issues, cooperating with industry and research institutions on a number of market development and technology research projects. In addition, the lobbying activities undertaken by EWEA help create a suitable legal framework within which members can successfully develop their businesses.
